Reporting that the plans of attack on the other side of the Lys have been postponed; reporting that the loss of Hanoverians at Mouscron was not as great as first reported; reporting "The Enemy are still in force in West Flanders. I wish to God, the Pusilanimity or the Caprice of a General did not delay the Attack. The Moments are precious if any thing is to be done;" informing him that he received a letter from General Beaulieu's Aide-de-Camp reporting that his troops "defeated the Enemy with great loss of Men & Cannon on their Side;" concluding by reporting that "...We have given the French a d---d Dressing in West Flanders."
