The letter to which he refers (MA 1272.31) informed Pulteney that Lord Hawkesbury would be First Lord of the Treasury and Lord Castlereagh the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Lord Grenville would become First Lord of the Treasure on 11 February 1806 and Lord Henry Petty, the Chancellor of the Exchequer on 5 February 1806.
