Submitting his ideas on the revival of the use of pikes and putting forth his arguments for them; asking for his help with a petition for the reestablishment of the rights of the officers of the Scot's Brigade that served in Holland; expressing his disappointment that he has resigned his position as Secretary at War but hoping he will "have the Goodness to support the Cause of the oldest Body of British regular Troops that ever served, whose Behavior on all Occasions little merited being requited by such usage as their remains have suffered."
