Summary
Reporting the death of an officer, his recommendation of a man to succeed him, and the fact that desertion is now exceeding recruiting; saying he has "preserved the old Colours which I purpose transmitting to you when an opportunity offers...If no alteration takes place our destination will be at Enniskillen when Sir Charles Ross will command;" expressing his disappointment that the oldest Lieutenant will not be able to raise enough men "in order to succeed to the Major's Company."
