Summary
Informing him that the "Royal Irish will not be under your Orders this Campaign; I understand they have received instructions to hold themselves in readiness for the Expedition...it appears that we shall not so immediately leave Gibraltar;" reminding him that the Regiment is in need of an Assistant Surgeon; adding that he is "in appearance recovered but my strength returns very slowly; I hope in three weeks to be in Town on my way to the Mediterranean."
