It is likely that this correspondence relates to the Court Martial of Lieutenant Colonel Ogle on March 17, 1800 when as Commander of the 128th Regiment at Chatham Barracks he was accused of fraud and as a result his pay and rank were suspended for eighteen months. He resigned his commission on October 17, 1800.
