Enclosing a copy of a letter (MA 1268.45) from [Sir John] MacMahon, informing him of an honor he would be receiving from the Prince in recognition of his service to his Regiment, which "has been disbanded since that unfortunate and fatal day - the 16th of June 1802; relating all that years as a prisoner in France taught him and the confidence he has placed in Pulteney since his return in sharing letters and documents with him; asserting his continuing commitment to conciliation and the testament to his loyalty and love of country that the Honor bestowed upon him conveys.
