Summary
Concerning his request for leave to return to England; thanking him for his interest and expressions of friendship; assuring him "that neither a quietness of mind or of body would find their rest in me, untill, me and my Blessed good Family should return to France with me to make the same Homage of Esteem, Respect and Gratitude for That Service done, them and me, which - only can be the means by which my fortune can be preserved from inevitable ruin, and enable me to reside with comfort for some years, in or near your capital, to Educate my children and Economize for their future independence;" expressing his regret that he is unable to communicate with him in French; adding "Patience is a virtue, I have been rigorously taught to say - and I have Sufficient yet left to devote to your Pleasure and to your Time."
