Acknowledging receipt of his letter but saying he cannot find the place he has written from on any map; writing almost entirely in ciphers with English interspersed; saying "I fear it will not be practicable to convey to you...Brigadier Gen'l Monson however of whose position you will before this have been informed will receive directions to ...with him therefore you will please to communicate in this subject. You must have heard of the capture of the Fort of Hinglais Ghur by assault on the 2nd inst by a detachment from Brigadier Monsons direction. It was one of Holkars principal Forts and the acquisition of it is of great advantage..."
