Suggesting that he forward the substance of the letter from Mr. Henning to Mr. Perceval rather than sending the letter; discussing Sir John Johnstone; saying "I really am sorry for Sir Johnstone - I pity his Want of foresight and management Extremely - but at the same time, I must not allow myself to be trampled upon, and treated with Insolence & Contempt;" explaining all he did at his own expense for which he has not been compensated but suggests it may be Sir John Johnstone's advisers rather than Sir John Johnstone; discussing, in detail, his relation to the Family and how that relationship affects Sir John Johnstone's potential support in the Borough.
