Concerning the appointment for Mr. Henning; saying "At present I am inclined to think that if Sir John Johnstone would give him the Place, He would not take it from Sir John. Mr. Henning considers himself as supporting you - So do I - I think by the next Election Two Hundred voters and upwards will be at my Service - Sir John Johnstone should not treat with Indifference those old Friends of the Family who have been always respected by the Family;" explaining the reason for why Sir John Johnstone considers himself and Henning as enemies; discussing a possible contribution to Election expenses.
