Summary
He is glad to have news of Rosenberg and to know that Rosenberg is coming to Paris during the summer, where Matisse is also planning to be in June. He regrets that since Rosenberg's last visit, he [Matisse] has had no news about the paintings that Rosenberg is trying to find [probably the ones looted by the Nazis]. He hopes that Rosenberg will recover everything he is still missing. He has found out, however, that [his] painting Femme à la guitare [Woman with a Guitar] from 1939 is now in Rosenberg's hands, and he's very happy about it. Matisse is okay. He has stopped illustrating books and is back to painting, with as much curiosity as in the past.
