Summary
Apologizing for not writing for 2 months in response to Rosenberg's letters of April 16 & 17. He feels bad that he's unable to accept Rosenberg's offer of a contract, as tempting as it may be. He's temporarily abandoning painting to do decorative work: tapestries, frescoes, etc. He will be painting only very rarely. He feels even worse because his relationship with Rosenberg has always been so open and cordial. He says that he could have acknowledged receipt of 100 dollars that Rosenberg sent him for reproduction royalties. He wouldn't have had this money without Rosenberg's devoted efforts. He thought he'd be able to write to Rosenberg about the contract and thank him for what he sent him at the same time, but he hasn't received it yet. (in postscript) He hopes Rosenberg is in good health and says that he himself is doing okay.
