Concerning a situation involving the Lanark & Dunbarton Fencibles; saying "The business being of a very serious nature, I wish you could have made it convenient to have gone over to enquire into the affair, and which I must beg of you to do tomorrow morning, making a report to me of all particulars for further proceedings;" saying he has written to Lieutenant Colquhoun asking him "to remain at Romney detaining all the witnesses until your arrival..."
