Expressing pleasure that the Shorncliff Barracks is "so much improved;" discussing a visit to Ashford and changes to the Regiments ordered by the Duke of York "...being the wish & intention to draw the Militia Reg'ts nearer their respective Counties, and which would Lead one to hope Peace not far off, notwithstanding the late blow up at Paris, which in my opinion, though singular, will rather forward that happy event, than retard it, but a short time now must determine;" setting a date to attend Artillery Practice and discussing troop marches.
