Summary
Concerning the Sheerness Mutiny; reporting "The Mutineers of the Fleet at this Port having refused every offer made to them by the Lords of the Admiralty - The matter is come to that Issue that it is necessary to take every step to prevent their doing any mischief to this Dock-Yard - I am therefore under the necessity of calling from Ashford the two York Regiments for which purpose Routes are Enclosed - They will bring their Batt'n Guns - Camp Equipage - Blankets, and such Baggage for immediate use - but may leave their Heavy Baggage behind as I hope the necessity for detaining them will not be of any continuance. The Lords of the Admiralty have been here two days and left this [illegible] five this evening."
