Reporting his arrival at Winchell "with the three Batt[alions] belonging to [his] brigade & the three Guns attached to it"; naming locations where they destroyed bridges and noting, "I have also thrown every Impedimentin my power in my retreat to hinder the Enemy advancing"; remarking that the roads were so bad that his men have all lost their shoes.
