Expressing the "difficulty I am under respecting the Clothing of 150 supernumerary men now in Yorkshire belonging the 84th Regiment, as it cannot be supposed I can cloth so many men out of my own Pocket, or venture to order Clothing for them without a proper authority for so doing. I have already suffer'd a Loss of Seven Hundred pounds by Mr. Murrys disallowances which appeared to me very unjust, as the War Office admitted in their accounts I had raised upwards of 2600 Recruits in the years 1794 & 5 & had only been allowed Clothing for 2200...;" asking that he "take the present circumstances of my Supernumeraries into your consideration as Secretary at War & give some directions for my being enabled to order Clothing"
