Summary
Telling him that he has "no wish whatever that The Other House shall be published as a book until such date as may be just to its complete appearance in [Shorter's] columns"; adding that "nothing definite" has been arranged between James and [William] Heinemann about publishing the story, but that he will make sure its appearance is after the final installment appears in the London Illustrated News; asking him to tell him "the earliest date at which [Shorter] should not consider the issue of the book inconvenient to the I.L.N."; complaining that he has not received the duplicates he requested; adding that he didn't say something sooner because he has "a mortal aversion to asking twice."
