Responding to 39 questions about American writers whose work has been produced within the past five years; saying that "The Sot-Weed Factor" was a novel whose influence has altered the course of fiction; saying that he believes the work of Barth, Coover and Elkin will dominate the 70s; replying to questions concerning whose work he admires the most he names Elkin and Barth; naming "The Bad Man" [Elkin] as his favorite novel in the last five years and "perhaps 'The Indian Uprising'" as his favorite short story in the past five years; in reply to which three writers he would most like to have as neighbors he names "Barth Elkin Lebowitz - I have the last 2 as neighbors right now & very fine ones they are, too."
