Summary
Acknowledging receipt of Rodríguez Feo's letter and two issues of Orígenes; noting that he is getting someone to read them to him because he doesn't know Spanish; expressing his pleasure that Rodríguez Feo is "not afraid of the obscene"; sending him "under separate cover a chapter from 'Black Spring,' never published elsewhere, called 'A Saturday Afternoon'"; asking him to suggest someone who can translate his books into Spanish; sending him "some small publications" and "the magazine 'Circle' for the essay on [Jean] Varda"; commenting on Rodríguez Feo's comment that he was not able to get a copy of Miller's Sunday after the War in Cuba; remarking, "I don't think [Ernest] Hemingway would bring any of my books back. Don't think he cares much for my work"; asking if Rodríguez Feo can get French books in Cuba and if he knows anything about Jean Giono and "what he has written during the war -- and what did they do with him"; inquiring about whether Rodríguez Feo could use any of his watercolors in Orígenes and suggesting that Bern Porter might lend him the plates.
