Summary
Observing that he is writing from Miami, "which ... is about as far as [he] will get in that proposed trip to Havana"; remarking that he was so busy that he neglected "the formalities involved in getting a draft permit and a passport renewal"; wishing they could have met to work through passages of [T.S. Eliot's] Four Quartets; adding that he is starting work on a long poem, and in preparation he is re-reading the Bible, [Dante's] Divine Comedy; Lucretius, [Shakespeare's] The Tempest, and [Herman Melville's] Moby Dick; noting that he forgot to bring Rodríguez Feo's letter with him and thus will have to answer his questions about translating an E.E. Cummings poem when he returns to Vassar; telling him, "You were lucky to get a poem from [Marianne] Moore -- she's so spare in her production"; giving his address in Miami.
