Samuel S. Vaughan was an editor (later editor-in-chief and President) at Doubleday, Garrett's publisher.
With a carbon copy of a typed letter from Samuel Vaughan to George Garrett dated February 1, 1972. Vaughan's letter appears to be in reply to Garret's letter which is simply dated "Saturday". It is possible this letter was written Saturday, January 22nd as the poetry reading to which Vaughan's letter refers (Yevtushenko & Friends) took place Friday, January 28th at Madison Square Garden.
