Telling her that his trip to Asia won't be definite until the day he leaves; noting that they are probably going to San Francisco at the end of the week and waiting for transportation there; remarking that he needs to get more shots, including one for bubonic plague; adding that he plans to move to a cheaper hotel; reporting that the hotel and city seem overrun with drunken servicemen; describing the people in Los Angeles and commenting on how they seem influenced by the motion picture industry; mentioning that he took a bus to Hollywood.
