Summary
Wishing his family a happy Easter and writing that he hopes Susan "walked in the park and wore her new coat"; explaining that he tried to call her but there was "a delay of from six to eight hours on all New York calls"; discussing how much he misses Mary and Sue; telling her that they must make a cross-country trip together sometime; recounting a conversation he had with a man from Nebraska who was going to fight in the South Pacific; describing the transition from farm land to mountains; adding that he missed some of the California scenery because he had "bought a copy of 'The Best Known Novels of George Eliot' and [he] read Adam Bede into the Los Angeles Station"; giving her his address in Los Angeles.
