Asking for money; telling her that he is trying to "work on the story" at the Bon-Air; complaining that "there is not a typewriter in Augusta for rent," and saying that he may have her send his typewriter if he can "find a safe place to store" it; adding that she should have received the Random House check; instructing her to telephone [Maxim] Lieber [Cheever's agent] if she hasn't received the check; commenting on the atmosphere at the hotel.
