Summary
Saying that he thought they "had a nice telephone conversation this morning"; telling her she "has the patience of a saint as far as [their] reunion goes"; discussing whether he will be transferred to New York; writing, "this is another bad Sunday afternoon with indigestion, lassitude, radio music and all the rest of it"; noting that "there is quite a lot of friction in the barracks between the rebels and the few Yankees. They seem to feel that we have come down into their Godforsaken part of the country voluntarily and only in order to spoil it for them."
