Summary
Describing a "pointless" day in which he visited Aiken, South Carolina, which "turned out to be one [dairy?] store, one feed store, etc. one enormous high school, a lot of nondescript and very run-down houses, and a lot of jungle growth. If it hadn't been for the palmetto trees it might have passed for some parts of Brooklyn, and not the best parts either"; mentioning a letter from [Maxim] Lieber, his agent; adding that he doesn't think he should "come up to New York until [he] make[s] some more money."
