Summary
Reporting that he bought a $2 fountain pen and saw a man with a typewriter who must have been a writer; describing a "very tough day" in which they had to "run through clouds of five poisonous gases without [their] masks"; mentioning a letter from Josie [Josephine Herbst] "with no news"; noting that he was able to get the stamps to mail his story; asking her to let him know when she receives it.
