Reporting that his brother, James Boswell, died at two o'clock this morning; noting that Boswell's illness, which lasted five weeks, caused him a great deal of pain, but that he did not suffer much "in his last moments"; adding that he is to be buried at Auchinleck; praising the affectionate behavior of his sons and daughters during his illness.
