Summary
Expressing regret and repentance after he was robbed while drunk: "this however shall be a crisis in my life: I trust I shall henceforth be a sober, regular man. Indeed, my indulgence in wine has, of late years especially, been excessive"; recommending that Temple remove himself "from St. Gluvias for a time, and dissipate [him]self in some place where [he] can have variety"; noting that he hopes to have the second edition of his Life of Johnson out next week and will send the additions to Temple; reporting that his "Continental tour is to hold."
