Apologizing for "neglecting to speak to Davies about Muratori"; complaining to him that "Harry Dundas is going to be made King's Advocate" despite being "a coarse, unlettered, unfanciful dog"; mentioning that he breakfasted with [Pasquale] Paoli and dined "tete a tete with [his] charming Mrs. Stuart"; describing his activities with [Samuel] Johnson and adding that Johnson is "to buy for [him] a chest of books of his chusing off stalls, & [Boswell is] to read more & drink less."
