Summary
Reporting that he sent his servant to two booksellers to obtain the books Temple requested; giving an account of the end of his interest in Zelide as a marriage prospect and forwarding an "acid epistle" she sent to him; writing, "I am really the Great Man now. I have had David Hume in the forenoon & Mr. [Samuel] Johnson in the afternoon of the same day visiting me"; mentioning other famous people who have visited him or dined with him; telling Temple that he hopes to visit him soon.
