Summary
Announcing the end of his courtship of Miss Blair; describing a scene in which he and one of her other passed-over suitors waited upon her together and "agreed to deal by one another in a fair and candid manner"; giving an account of a dinner with this other suitor at which they compared stories; writing a poem about losing his mistress; adding that he is "resolved to look out for a good wife either here or in England"; noting that he intends to be in London in March.
