Congratulating Temple on his recent marriage; noting that Temple has "removed half [his] apprehensions" about marriage, and he supposes he will "likewise by & by experience the agreable [sic] union"; complaining that Miss Blair has not answered his last two letters; reporting that his "present unhappy distemper joined with a cold, brought on a most terrible fever"; adding that he is now recovering; noting that his mistress has not developed any symptoms of his venereal disease; sending news of shared acquaintances.
