Summary
Telling him that the Prince Regent [George IV] received his notice of the Duke of Kent's death; thanking him for "the very regular & clear communication which [he] transmitted for H.R.H.'s Information of the state of the Duke during his melancholy illness"; discussing funeral arrangements and noting that a "proper Person will repair to Sidmouth for that purpose"; adding that "His Royal Highness" bears this sudden affliction with as much fortitude and resignation as the deplorable event will admit"; remarking that George IV "derives a consolation from knowing that the Duke of Kent received and was comforted by the communication of His Royal Highness's fraternal anxiety and affectionate solicitude for him."
