Noting that he and [George Stracey] Smyth "are busily employed setting about the different appointments for [Wetherall's] Corps"; discussing his chances for being appointed "Colonel in Chief of the ... Regiments of fencible Infantry now raising in North America," and lamenting his current standing with the Duke of York [Frederick Augustus]; speaking critically of John Wentworth; commenting on military placements; mentioning a request from Lionel Smith (see MA 2909.18 in this collection); writing of various shared acquaintances and their requests for favors; enclosing "Colonel Clinton's explanation of the assertion 'that there were no vacancies of Companies in your Corps to fill up'" (see MA 2909.20 in this collection).
