The first stanza is crossed out; "O name above all other names" is the first line of the second stanza in the manuscript. The published poem begins, "Immortal love, forever full"; a line similar to this appears on the last page of this manuscript ("A love of God, forever full")
The title appears as "The Master" on the first page and "Our Master" on the last page. The poem was published as "Our Master."
