Disputing expenses charged against her allowance which she argues were not hers; adding "I was to be the nominal spender - tho I acted liberally but as a secondary means - I was the House Steward to follow directions & then because I did as I was ordered - was accused of dishonesty - with respect to your conduct towards me - its a bad representation of Ld. Howe's to the Navy" and quoting a "late reply of a Capt'n to him on the subject which was as follows ----- you seem to have forgot you was not always the great man you are now become - and that you have heretofore wanted money still more than I do----to which I must add from myself -- as I well remember the time of both - and ever must what I am and you are."
