Notes
A published reference to an earlier petition on the same subject (September 1660) indicates that Sir Thomas Byron loaned King Charles I £700 for payment to the regiment of which Byron was a Colonel. The published reference indicates Katherine Byron was also petitioning for a pension for herself for work she did during the war transporting secret documents.
