Thanking him for his letter; announcing that he has forwarded the book [his John Inglesant] "by Rail today"; remarking that he would feel "honoured" if Knight would "place it in the University Library"; acknowledging that there are many errors in the printing, and saying that he "consider[s] this edition in the light of a proof itself"; thanking him for his reading suggestions and reporting that he is reading [Frederick] Pollock on Spinoza; mentioning Knight's work on [William] Wordsworth; hoping they will have an opportunity to meet again.
