Summary
Sending him an enclosure that will "show [him] the state of [their] political arrangements; or rather disarrangements"; reporting that King George III has called on [Spencer] Perceval to form a government; saying that he thinks Perceval has "recommended a junction with Lord [Charles] Grey & [Lord William] Grenville; sending two enclosures that "will account to you for the state in which I write to you, which is on a sofa, with a giant bullet-hole through my thigh"; noting that the "wound is not at all dangerous"; telling him that his "resignation is not yet accepted."
