Summary
Concerning the recall of his brother, the Marquis of Wellesley, from Spain; saying that a letter of recall will be sent but that Wellesley should not return if he feels his presence in Spain is important; expressing his desire to communicate with Wellesley but uncertain how to go about it given his "official situation as Ch'r of the Exchequer can afford me no pretence of official communication;" saying he does not believe Wellesley should leave his present position "till some arrangement is made here, which will give him the means of knowing who is to be Canning's Successor;" adding that he will leave it to Pole "to determine how this Communication should be made and also whether you think upon the whole that it is right for you to make it at all."
