Telling her that he has "fulfilled her commands to the best of [his] endeavours, & in a manner that [he] trust[s] will prove most satisfactory to [her] wishes and views in the result"; mentioning a visit from Lady Hastings [wife of Francis Rawdon-Hastings, Marquess Hastings, Governor-General of India] and noting that he took the opportunity to recommend Mr. John Law [Lady Ellenborough's son] "through the medium of her Ladyship, to the particular notice & Attention of the Governor General."
