Summary
Informing him that the Secretary of War has informed the Governor of Georgia "that the troops at this place are in sufficient number to protect and give respectability to the negociation;" adding that he is of the "opinion with the war officer, as to the competency of the protection, and we doubt not on viewing the state of things here, but that it will be yours. and that it will be a satisfaction to you to find, that the gentlemen of the guard may be dismissed, with safety to the object of their coming;" discussing the provision for their accommodation when they arrive and adding they have requested tents from the war office for the Commissioners and have asked that half of the tents be set aside for his Commissioners.
