Summary
Replying to his letters; reminding him that he told him "in my last that the Vessels would not be wanted for Public Account and for my part I think they like every thing else have got far beyond their Value so that I will not buy unless they go cheap and should be glad of your opinion of what they are worth & what they may be like to sell for. You may send your acc't against Col. Harrison and I will Credit you for the amt as you propose. I do not blame you for not parting with your Tob'o nor wish you to do it against your Judgement. I sent for Mr. Commissary [Carpenter] Wharton this morning he says the Fish will be wanted for the army but he has thoughts of resigning his employment & at present will not make Contracts but that you may depend it will be wanted for the Public Service."
