Summary
Commenting that they have been close friends for some sixty years and that, though he is not as healthy as M. de Ruffey, he hopes to live to be 100 and to write "1800 comme 1780" on his letters; writing that he was sure that he had told him that M. [Jacques] et Mme. [Suzanne Curchod] Necker did not attempt to buy the land at Montfort because it would have required them to build; suggesting that the death of Mme de Bouzonville [sister-in-law of M. de Ruffey] may change his decision to sell; asking if he still wants to sell for more than 100,000 écus; commenting that he may have difficulty obtaining this price; discussing the fact that M. Necker has purchased a large amount of England's debt from Holland.
