Summary
Hoping to see M. de Ruffey in Paris in March; writing that he will return to the country around Mar. 25; praising the choice of M. [Alexis] Fontaine [des Bertins] for the Académie [de Dijon] because he is a famous geometer; commenting that it is unfortunate that the legal troubles of M. Fontaine require him to do other things than geometry; asking M. de Ruffey to help M. Fontaine; writing that he is looking forward to reading the first volume of the Mémoires and that he will seek the work of M. de Ruffey and of M. [Charles] de Brosses; discussing the desire of M.
