Summary
Explaining that he sent four volumes of illuminated plates "sur petit papier" to M. [René-Joseph] Hébert in response to M. de Ruffey's order, for which he paid 60 livres; adding that he has also sent volumes X, XI, XII, and XIII of L'histoire naturelle for the use of the members of the Académie [of Dijon]; explaining that he cannot send the plates as a gift because of the need to pay the illustrators and because there are only 150 copies done on "grand papier" and 300 on "petit papier"; observing that the price of the package that M. Hébert will incur should be shared because most of the contents are not for him; explaining that there are also volumes for M. [Claude-Denis-Marguerite] Rigoley de Puligny and for M. [Thomas] du Morey, with the majority intended for the Académie itself; promising to speak with the mayor of Montbard [Pierre Daubenton] when he comes to Paris and, "de le presser de nouveau de satisfaire à ses obligations"; asking M. de Ruffey to warn M. Hébert of the arrival of the package in question because he will not be able to do so in time for the post.
