Summary
Explaining that he has been unable to write because of severe stomach pains, which have eased; expressing his hope that the country air will improve his health, which has been damaged by a sedentary lifestyle and too much work; explaining that he has the four volumes in "grand papier" with illuminated plates that M. de Ruffey has ordered, and that he will send them by coach to Mlle. [Marguerite] Buisson, who will give them to [Gabrielle de Rochechouart, dame de la Croix-Etoilée de Pologne], who is very interested in the natural sciences; commenting that he is sending the best volumes, which will one day be very rare; asking him to warn Mlle. Buisson that she will soon receive this package; writing that he has received a note from M. [Hugues] Maret thanking him on behalf of the Académie [de Dijon] for the volumes that this group has received; mentioning that the sister of Mme. de Ruffey is visiting Madame de La Forest.
